Albert Comstock Kahler Jr. (1925-1986)
Albert Comstock Jr. was born in Sayville, Long Island, New York on March 19th, 1925. He was the second child of Albert Comstock Kahler (1887-1943) and Florence Josephine Adams (1895-1993). Albert had an older sister, Florence Gertrude (1918-1928), who passed away at the age of ten from spinal meningitis.
Albert served in the European theatre of World War II. Following the war, he returned to Long Island to captain the Point O' Woods Ferry, like both his father and grandfather.
In 1948, Albert married his childhood sweetheart, Norma Augusta Wortmann (1926) and had three children, Albert Comstock III (1951), David Bruce (1952), and Nancy Alicia (1959-1978). In 1956 he began working in the Point O' Woods office and became the General Manager in 1968 until his retirement in 1985.
Albert died of Lung Cancer on November 7th, 1986.
